Food Mood Journal

A Food Mood Journal is one of the best and easiest ways to keep track of how the foods you eat affects your moods.   It allows you to observe the connections between the foods you eat and how you feel both physically and mentally.  As part of the weight loss challenge you will have access to a Food Mood Journal, by clicking on the Food Mood Journal link below.   Print off the food mood journal for each day of the week to keep track of each meal and beverage.

(Here is some added information that may be helpful.)
  • With your journal entries, you can clearly see the kinds of food you reach for the most.
  • Begin to analyze why you eat those food items by looking at the corresponding feelings or moods you have written down.  For instance you may notice how your morning coffee affects your day, the salad you ate for lunch gave you more energy for your meeting, etc.
  • Take note of the food items that give you headaches, a surge of energy, feelings of bloated-ness and so on.  Knowing these things will help you make better food choices later.
  • Notice also when you eat most and what you eat more of when you are stressed or sad.
  • Print the food mood journal for each day of the week.
